Virtual Mentoring
Our virtual mentoring program will support Children in a social emotional capacity. Mentors are asked to connect on line at least once a week with their mentee for a one year commitment. We anticipate that through one-to-one mentoring children and youth will experience developmental relationships evidenced by the following elements: their mentor challenges them to grow, provides support, shares power, and children and youth know they matter to their mentor.
Virtual Reading
Children will be between the grades of 1-3. Mentors are asked to connect on line for 30 minutes once a week with their mentee for the current school year. Through virtual reading, children and youth receive academic support related to literacy.
Over time, this helps children meaningfully improve their academic skills and become more confident in their reading abilities.
Spend time with a mentee supporting their reading.
Virtual Tutoring
Children and youth will be between the grades of 4-12. Mentors are asked to connect on line for 45-60 minutes once a week with their mentee for the current school year. Through virtual tutoring, children and youth receive academic support related to math, science, literacy and any other related subject.
Over time, this helps children and youth meaningfully improve their academic skills and become more confident in these abilities.
Spend time with a mentee supporting their academic success.
In School Mentoring Program
*Note: This program is currently not running, please check back at a later date.
The In School Mentoring Program is a way to get involved with a child. It allows volunteers (mentors) to share time with a child in their school during the school day. Mentors meet with their littles (students) following the 20-20-20 rule: 20 minutes of getting to know each other and catching up, 20 minutes of school work or reading, and 20 minutes of free time. In addition to friendship, the focus is on literacy, social support and classroom support. Volunteers in this program are meeting youth in their schools during the school day (lunch hours even!). Matches in this program do not meet over the summer. Great opportunity for businesses to support their employees to get involved in a local volunteer program, and only have to give up an hour of their time each week!
